Part 1: What is a travel journal?
People have used travel journals for hundreds of years to record the journeys they have taken. A travel journal can take many forms. Watch the video to see one example of a travel journal.
Look at other examples of travel journals by following these links.
Your travel journal can be physical or digital. Let your teacher know which one you choose before you continue. |

Use this scenario to write your first journal entry.
Journal Entry #1 - Your host family believes you died in the plane crash and they begin to travel back to South Africa. After surviving for two days on the Coke and peanuts you salvaged from the plane, you realize you have to develop a plan. You need to catch up with them! They are the only people who can help you! The plane veered when the first explosion happened. You know that you did not cross the Nile River, so you know that you are west of the Nile River. You decide to head toward the Nile River and hopefully civilization and good transportation. Write a journal entry about your plane crash and your plan to find your host family. After you finish this journal entry, use the Student Checklist on the Evaluation page to make sure it is complete. |
